ANDREA
High school student and sneakers reseller
Have you noticed how, on Thursdays, certain streets in Haut Marais, around rue Barbette, resemble an episode of the comedy Sneakerheads, the series which tells the story of the world of sneaker collectors?
Because Thursday is “drops” (restocking) day for fans of hip-hop and skateboard culture who frequent the Supreme store, a high-end streetwear brand renowned for its rarity marketing, and its collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Timberland, Lacoste and even North Face.
That Thursday, therefore, we came across a trendy young man, with a youthful and determined appearance. Andrea told us that she is a “sneaker reseller”, that is to say a sneaker trader, who buys the most popular pairs of sneakers of the moment to resell them.
In this very competitive environment, this type of super-salesman enjoys great success due to the imbalance in the market: demand is more abundant than supply.
But that day, the young trader, not having had the chance to have his entry ticket to access the sale, was waiting for a "proxi", in other words the intermediary who buys for those who cannot enter the store.
Andréa told us about her biggest dream: to become a professional golfer like Brooks Koepka. Wearing obviously crazy sneakers, of course!

The look of Ufo, Jeff and Juno
Le Marais is the district of encounters and chance. At the turn of a street, we come across beings with unique character and beauty. Here we are in front of Jeff, a DJ, model and graphic designer. NOW ON
THE MOOD MARSH
Divine brunch at the foot of Notre-Dame
Of course, officially, it is not the Marais. But at Son de la Terre, a barge recently moored at the Montebello quay (5th), the 4th arrondissement is in sight. Moreover, this one is incredible: on one side, it is Notre-Dame flooded with sunlight; on the other, the quays, the book sellers, the walkers, the joggers.
Saka, a cocktail bar like in Tokyo
Here is an address which gives the measure of the transformation of the Marais. And it's enough to silence the grumpy people whose mantra is: “It was better before…” No, everything was not better “before” in the Marais. Besides, there was no American bar like Saka, which cultivates a form of excellence that can only be found in Japan.
Jazz at 38Riv: The highlights of May
The only jazz club in the Marais, 38Riv is the temple of cool and swing. Rue de Rivoli, between Saint-Paul and Hôtel de Ville, its vaulted cellars are the home base of the new jazz scene. Every evening, the magic happens.
