ZHANG
Student at ESMOD
When she walks in the Marais, Zhang feels like she is walking through the set of one of her favorite films, The kid (2007) released in many countries, including his own, under the title La vie en rose. Certainly, “La Môme Piaf” is a child of the 20th century, not of the Marais, but that doesn’t matter.
One thing is certain: originally from Wuhan, China's eighth largest city by population, Zhang is both a fashionista who studies at ESMOD – the oldest fashion school, founded in Paris in 1841 – and a compulsive movie buff. Having seen old Paris on the big screen, its streets have become familiar to him.
“For me, the capital embodies romance above all,” Zhang told us the day we met her at Place de Thorigny. Paris, like Edith Piaf and French fashion, is irresistible!
