Le Marais, where jewelry was already made under the Ancien Régime, remains faithful to tradition. Look closely: almost every street has one or more jewelry stores. If only for the pleasure of the eyes, you must stop in front of their window to appreciate this French know-how inherited from previous centuries.

Beyond the costume jewelry stores of no real value, there are authentic creators of great talent in the neighborhood who work in their workshops, alone or in teams, focusing meticulously on their work in progress. This is where we measure the creativity and extent of their know-how.

This brand, which has existed for ten years, is nestled in a large room with an industrial design. The workshop, invisible from the street, is hidden at the back of the store, behind the wall covered with mirrors.

Bruno Caby, the jeweler, mainly targets a rock and LGBT population with his very daring mixed jewelry. We love Clio, the pendant with obvious sexual connotations, at 85 euros. Or for the Joy Division ring, a cult group from Manchester in the 80s.

From 220 to 248 €.

In a huge workshop hidden at the back of the store, former collaborators and associates of Serge Thoraval perpetuate the work of the designer who died in 1999, whose clients were Paco Rabanne, Lanvin, Agnes B., Montana, Soia Rykiel.

Here, engraved silver jewelry is born that celebrates poetry and love. Alfred de Musset, Charles Baudelaire, Alain lend their sonnets and rhymes to raw chic bangles, bracelets and rings. On one of them we read: “Life is a sleep, love is the dream and you will have lived if you have loved” (Alfred de Musset).

From 100 to 500 €.

At the top of rue Charlot, this delightful little workshop is home to two creators, one astral, the other more architectural, who are also friends. Their names ? Clara Jasmine and Jonas Bowman.

The first is a young designer who celebrates the moon, the sun and the stars by creating jewelry-talismans in gold and silver, charged with positive energy. How can you resist signet rings or pendants with old lace patterns (from €480 to €550)?

The second, an elegant Franco-American with British composure, works and exhibits jewelry in granite, tourmaline and wood, gold or silver, inspired by the play of light and the work of contemporary architects.

The eye is attracted by the caged stone at €784 and by the wood and ruby ring at €1.

What do Clara and Jonas have in common? An infinite delicacy.
