In the past, coffee was the simple synonym of an “espresso” or a “cafe crème”, swallowed in haste on a zinc counter. But that was before…
Today, the precious bean grown in Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Salvador, Jamaica, Ethiopia, Yemen (and so on) represents an art of living and an invitation to travel.
In its five Parisian boutiques, including two in the Marais, rue Rambuteau and rue de Blancs-Manteaux, “Terres de café” celebrates the precious fruit (yes, coffee is a fruit!) with full knowledge of the facts.
Son and grandson of a roaster, Christophe Servell created the brand in 2009 where he offers around forty coffees, including great vintages and exceptional appellations, but also advice, tasting workshops and a wide variety of percolators, coffee makers (piston, siphon, chemex, filter, Italian). Not forgetting thermoses, kettles, cups and coffee grinders.
“Now coffee lovers are aware that investing in very good coffee and a good coffee maker is actually less expensive and allows you to reveal the taste, which is incomparable”, underlines Christophe Servell who serves macchiato, cappuccino, coffee on site. latte and other double espresso.
After a year of pandemic, we met Christophe Servell in his largest boutique in Marais, the district where Terres de café was born.
And the good news is that its brand is doing quite well: if direct sales to hotels and restaurants, all closed, have fallen by half, commerce on the web has boosted. As if it had been invigorated by a strong espresso!
