This Indian spirit is the only one in the world distilled from naturally sweet flowers of the mahua, or Madhuca, a sacred tree with strong mystical connotations. During the British colonial period, Europeans banned its consumption, accusing it of spreading "dangerous thoughts" among those who overindulged. Suffice it to say, it has all the hallmarks of a transgressive beverage, perfect for spicing up a Valentine's Day: pink, aromatic, steeped in history and desire. A sensual and slightly rebellious toast, to be shared by two.

Beneath its glossy vanilla fondant coating, the craquelin choux pastry reveals a red praline center, an homage to passion. Its smooth vanilla and almond milk cream evokes the sweetness of a kiss exchanged on the banks of the Seine.
