Until January 19, 2025, the gallery DEEYA Paris present " Sadak ”, a photography exhibition by Aradhana Seth capturing the ephemeral art of hand-painted signs on Indian streets.

Based in Goa, Aradhana Seth has been documenting these colorful works that transform the Indian urban landscape into an open-air museum since the 90s. Her photographs, selected from a unique personal archive, reveal a world in the process of disappearing, swept away by galloping modernization.

The exhibition, inspired by the eponymous book published in 2023, offers a captivating visual journey through 40 limited edition prints. It invites reflection on collective memory and societal evolution, while celebrating the little-known talent of Indian street artists.

With Sadak, the Indian filmmaker, artist, set designer and photographer displays her keen eye for detail, revealing the country's historical and economic changes through these visual expressions of everyday life. This collection of photographic archives, published by Humboldt Books, is a valuable record of Indian popular culture and its evolution over the years.
