Finally, construction is resuming! Launched four years ago and interrupted by the Covid pandemic, work is resuming on rue Vieille-du-Temple in the heart of what is one of the most fascinating buildings in the Marais, in Paris. Known as the Hotel des Ambassadeurs de Hollande, the Amelot hotel in Bisseuil was built in 1657. In 2024 - the year of the Olympic Games - it will host a luxury hotel program, with nine suites.

Monday, October 17, the resumption of the site began with the spectacular winching of several Algecos using a huge crane. Transported into the sky, the containers flew over the mansion to land in one of the interior courtyards, and now house the workers' “home base”.

Known to walkers for its magnificent ornate portal, the building of 17e century has been in the restoration phase since the end of the 1990s. The renovation of the facades and roofs was completed in 2016. The extraordinary original interior decor is still preserved in most of the lounges despite the vicissitudes of the history, since the Revolution and throughout the 19e century. The building has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1924.

A luxury hotel will be created at the end of the work. On the ground floor, the old stables and carriage houses will house the restaurant on the large courtyard, while the first courtyard, on rue Vieille-du-Temple, will contain two businesses in the continuity of its development at 19e century.

The estimated duration of the work is two years, at the end of which the perspective and the crossing of the two courtyards and the two porches will be open to passers-by who will be able to walk from rue Vieille-du-Temple to the narrow street des Guillemites (formerly rue des Singes). Now kept in a warehouse, the original wooden gate will return to its place at the very end of the project.
