Covid has changed the appearance of French cities. And the Marais is no exception to the rule. Everywhere, from République to Saint-Paul, white, red or black canvas banners now punctuate the urban landscape. And, from morning to evening, the lines don't stop. Here, we track down the chain! This explains it: in France since Christmas, 1 million Covid tests (PCR or antigen) have been carried out every day.

It is always interesting to know that some barnums work illegally. On January 3, the police headquarters counted 562 illegal tents. Nothing really worrying for patients: in the overwhelming majority of cases, it is an administrative problem and not a health one. Motivated by the lure of profit, certain pharmacies with authorization for a single stand do not hesitate to erect three, four or five.

After devoting themselves, last November, to the timely dismantling of the ephemeral terraces, the police are now controlling the illegal barnums. Around the Forum des Halles, last week, municipal police officers noted that 7 out of 10 were in violation.

More worrying for Parisians are fake test scams. Rare but not non-existent cases. On January 2, two crooks who charged €100 for an antigen test were arrested on the Champs-Élysées where they had illegally set up a racket. They primarily targeted tourists.

Le Parisien tells the rest of the story: “Around 19:30 p.m., a resident of Bezons (Val-d'Oise) threw a tantrum when he discovered that two men were demanding €100 from his sister-in-law for a simple test. He asks for explanations. His interlocutors have difficulty responding. At the same time, other customers, particularly Italians, were also surprised by the exorbitant price. The police arrive on site in front of number 125. They see the two “employees” in white coats, who are equipped with screening equipment against covid-19. The police interrupt their activities and ask the pseudo-health professionals to present an authorization. But the two men are unable to present any document. It is also impossible to name the name of a company for which they work. » Their tests are not even sent to a laboratory... The business potentially brought in between €2 and €000 per day. Moral: test yourself yes, but anywhere!

The best tattoo parlors in Marais

Tattooing, an age-old practice, has long been the prerogative of convicts, dock workers, the underworld and sailors. Although it has become democratized, now affecting all profiles and concerning one in five French people, including 16% women compared to 10% men, it still remains taboo due to its definitive and transgressive nature.
