From September 13 to 15, 2024, Le Marais celebrates the 10th anniversary of its cultural festival “Les Traversées du Marais”. Under the theme of “Surprise”, this anniversary edition promises to shake up the senses and certainties of strollers, in a district where history rubs shoulders with the avant-garde.

Florence Claval, from the Maison de Victor Hugo, proudly announces a program that ignores artistic boundaries, transforming the Marais into an open-air cultural playground.

Dance enthusiasts can try their hand at the barre on Louis-Philippe Bridge, in an improbable urban dance studio.

The Forney Library, a usually silent lair, will be the scene of a magic show, defying the laws of physics and common librarian sense.

For music lovers, the garden of Cognacq-Jay museum classical notes will resonate, while the duo Plok and Replonk-Bébert promise to make the walls of the Museum of Hunting and Nature tremble with laughter.

The Institute for Advanced Studies will examine the very concept of “surprise” in a reflection that promises to be as stimulating as it is unexpected.

For those looking to tickle their nostrils, the MAIF Social Club will offer a unique olfactory journey, proof that in the Marais, even the air we breathe can become a work of art.

The public is invited to stroll between monumental installations and improvised performances, with an obligatory detour via Sully Hotel for an immersive exhibition of artist Claire Tabouret.

À Hôtel de Ville, contemporary dance fans will be able to attend an open-air show that mixes urban and classical movements.

The House of Poetry, it will resonate with committed readings, with poets like Rim Battal and Stéphane Audeguy.

For street art, a guided walk through the neighborhood's murals is not to be missed, with unpublished works by Shepard Fairey (Obey).

The Marais Crossings also mean rediscovering heritage, with night-time visits to Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis church, lit up for the occasion.

Like that, to end the evening in style, of the intimate concert planned on the terrace of the Centre Pompidou, offering a breathtaking view of Paris.

This 10th edition will transform the Marais into a real cultural playground.
