Rally at Place de la République in support of Ukraine (l.), Showcase of At Alain Yum Yum (r.)

The war in Ukraine, which began on February 24, affects the entire world, including the Marais where, as elsewhere, a wave of solidarity is expressed in the private and public sphere. With his “sandwiches for Ukraine”, Alain Miam Miam, a figure from Haut-Marais, in Paris, was the first to draw.

This Tuesday, March 8, all sandwiches from Alain Roussel's two points of sale – rue Charlot, and on the Marché des Enfants-Rouges – are offered at the exceptional price of 5 euros.

“I wanted to do something in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and I told myself that I could use my little notoriety to raise funds to redistribute to an association,” says Alain Roussel, alias Alain Miam Miam. I could have made a donation directly but that seemed less mobilizing to me. We must speak, act, come together and communicate. » All funds collected will be donated in full for solidarity actions and support for Ukrainians.

For its part, the Paris Center town hall is organizing a solidarity collection to help Ukrainian refugees. Supporting Ukraine without leaving the Marais is therefore very simple. All you have to do is go to the Paris Center Town Hall, rue Eugène Spuller (3rd) and take part in the collection. The products to be given priority are: hygiene products such as shower gels, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, cotton, tissues, bandages, bandages, adhesive tape, diapers, breast milk, razors, shaving foam, hygienic protection, masks surgical. And dry foodstuffs such as pasta, rice, sachet soup, instant coffee, tea.

Another solidarity collection is organized by the Learning Planet institute, in the heart of the Marais. This research and higher education center attached to the University of Paris is particularly looking for first aid kits, medicines, bandages, compresses, blankets, warm clothing, sleeping bags, non-perishable foods, hygiene products.

Tattooing, an age-old practice, has long been the prerogative of convicts, dock workers, the underworld and sailors. Although it has become democratized, now affecting all profiles and concerning one in five French people, including 16% women compared to 10% men, it still remains taboo due to its definitive and transgressive nature.
