The Writer by Romas Zabarauskas, 2024
As the Lithuanian Season in France bows out in mid-December, the MK2 Beaubourg is thumbing its nose at the Parisian gloom from November 15 to 26, 2024, by rolling out the red carpet for Lithuanian queer cinema. A festival that promises to shake up consciences and ruffle certainties, with a host of daring feature films and hard-hitting shorts.
On the menu for this cinematic feast: four screenings to explore the most intimate and subversive corners of Lithuanian society. Romas Zabarauskas' latest "The Writer" promises to be a full-bodied main course, while Alanté Kavaïté and Jackie Baier's "Julia" promise to plunge us into the murky waters of identity and desire.

And because cinema is above all a matter of encounters, the directors will be there for question-and-answer sessions that promise to be electric. Romas Zabarauskas, Jackie Baier, Agné Joksé and Lukas Kacinauskas will be on the grill, ready to defend their vision of uncompromising cinema.
So, are you ready to dive into the troubled waters of the Baltic? The MK2 Beaubourg awaits you for a journey to the heart of a queer Lithuania, far from clichés and beaten paths. A final flourish for a Lithuania Season that will have definitely left its mark on Parisian minds.
