Returning from a long Ascension weekend, the Marais residents learned with amazement that their neighborhood, usually so calm, had been the scene of a terrible news item on the night of Saturday May 28 to Sunday 29 The crime scene is barely believable, worthy of a noir series.
That night, two night owls passing through rue de Poitou (3rd) around 4 a.m. came across a bloodied man leaning against a wall near the Lou Yétu store.
They alerted the firefighters who, on site, noted the death. The police are there too. The victim is identified. He is a 33-year-old young man born in 1989. He was killed with a knife and several blows to the chest. Initially, no information on the motives for the crime was communicated. But forensic scientists set to work on the crime scene.
During Sunday morning, the street was cordoned off so that investigators could calmly analyze the situation and take DNA traces. They work on site until lunchtime then pack up around 13 p.m. The street then returns to its normal appearance while the Paris criminal brigade is responsible for the investigation. An autopsy, at the forensic institute, is scheduled for Monday morning, May 30.
