A Folia, Marco da Silva Ferreira, Everybody Festival 2026

The Carreau du Temple puts the body back at the center of public debate by combining shows, performances, classes, and participatory workshops. For five days, from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 February, this rendez-vous "Foussant" questions our relationship to the body – gendered, racialized, disabled, desiring – in an atmosphere that is at once joyful, inclusive and demanding.

Initiated by the Carreau du Temple, the festival returns for its fifth edition, entirely dedicated to the place of the body in our contemporary societies. For five days, Everybody unfolds a vibrant tapestry of aesthetics and perspectives, encompassing shows, performances, contemporary art installations, workshops, and dance classes. Behind the festive effervescence, a central question runs through the entire program: how do artists address stereotypes related to gender, skin color, age, or disability, and what new representations do they offer?

The strength of this rendez-vous A vibrant and multifaceted space that explores our relationship with the body, its strength lies in its ability to create a dialogue between vastly different formats and atmospheres. In the immense hall of the "Carreau," choreographic pieces and physical performances fill the space, while the Studio de Flore offers a more intimate setting, bringing the audience closer to the performers. A comfortable performance hall completes the offering, allowing for more structured works, from established choreographers to emerging voices, all united by a shared commitment to the multifaceted body.

The program brings together a constellation of artists and personalities who explore the question of identity and difference: choreographers, performers, drag queens, writers, and activists. Soa de Muse, Mami Watta, Shei Tan, Maud Le Pladec, Chiara Bersani, Annabel Guérédrat, Living Smile Vidya, Rokhaya Diallo, and Alice Ripoll are among the announced names, sketching a sensitive and resolutely political map of contemporary bodies. The festival thus becomes a space where queer Afrofuturism, urban dance, documentary writing, and more intimate pieces can all converge.

Another strong point: the participatory dimension of the rendez-vousEverybody doesn't just showcase bodies; it invites people to set them in motion, with workshops, dance classes, wellness activities, and somatic explorations open to the public. Everyone is welcome to come not only to see a performance, but also to experiment, to sweat, to explore new ways of inhabiting their own body, far removed from the pressures of performance or conformity. This interplay between performance and practice makes the festival a true playground, as well as a space for reflection.

Baile Charme de Rio de Janeiro by choreographer Marcus Azevedo

The party is never far away: parties, cabarets, voguing balls, and festive moments like the Baile Charme imported from Rio all contribute to making Everybody a highlight of the winter cultural calendar. Beyond the music and dance, it's a way of affirming that the assertion of diverse and legitimate bodies also involves joy, the night, and shared sweat. Leaving, you feel like you've experienced a concentrated burst of images, discourses, and energies that challenge your perspective: you no longer just look at the artists on stage, but you begin to observe your own body, and those of others, in the city in a new light.
