Two certainties to end the year 2020: Christmas always falls on December 24 and the Marais chocolatiers always erect “celebration chocolates” into a work of taste art for our greatest pleasure.

We bit into truffles and other praline bites to reveal our top 5 original creations, made by passionate artisans and master chocolatiers.

So, before going home for New Year's Eve, visit their stores, have them delivered or opt for click & collect. Because if we have one certainty left to ensure we don't lose the taste for Christmas traditions, it's chocolate!

The Nymphs of TO THE MOTHER

Chocolate paradise has taken up residence at the oldest chocolatier-confectioner in Paris. Children big and small know that at the Mother of the Family, it's Christmas every day!

So how can we be surprised when we have already made more than fifty chocolate candies since 1761? By creating exceptional artistic collaborations.

This time, it is the artist Bastien Coulon who imagined to illustrate the festive boxes, Nymphs devouring their refined chocolates. This work, as beautiful as it is delicious, is published in a limited series.

For everyone else, you will discover the extent of their know-how in their vast selection of boxes filled with different recipes for ganaches, old-fashioned, fine or flaky pralines and rocks with a melting heart of almond-hazelnut praline, studded with crunchy almond slivers!

The Ingrid setting by JACQUES GENIN

From his workshop in the heart of the Marais, Jacques Genin, self-proclaimed “chocolate founder”, did not hesitate to create a pyramid of chocolate creations in homage to Paris.

In the Ingrid case, a reference to the author Ingrid Astier “incarnation of Parisian glamor and voluptuousness”, her milk or iridescent pralines reproduce the tip of the obelisk on Place de la Concorde.

The iconic almond, hazelnut-puff, rosemary-fleur de sel, lime, jasmine... chocolates always provoke explosions of intense flavors that surprise the senses and caress the palate. While its melting and creamy ganaches promise strong taste sensations.

The iconic Rudolph the Reindeer by EDWART

Sweet tooths, get ready to taste addictive chocolates. Since 2014, the date of creation of the Chocolaterie Edwart, the 100% artisanal collections have grown thanks to the inventiveness of its founder Edwin Yansané, who brilliantly ventured into mixing grand cru chocolates and original ingredients - Madras curry, monkey bread, Gombawa bark.

Its boxes and tablets delight classic cocoa lovers as well as the most adventurous, delighted to bite into surprising Cayenne pepper truffles and organic PDO olive oil.

Only the irreducible and emblematic Rudolph the Reindeer persists and marks his return every Christmas Eve. This season, he let himself be enveloped in grand cru chocolate from Tanzania, hazelnuts coated in milk chocolate and snacks. But what does Santa Claus do?!

The best tattoo parlors in Marais

The best tattoo parlors in Marais

Tattooing, an age-old practice, has long been the prerogative of convicts, dock workers, the underworld and sailors. Although it has become democratized, now affecting all profiles and concerning one in five French people, including 16% women compared to 10% men, it still remains taboo due to its definitive and transgressive nature.

Piccola Mia, the pizzas of the Republic

On the Place de la République, a brasserie with Italian accents has just opened, which quickly made people forget the old Pizza Pino. Welcome to Piccola Mia, the fruit of the joyful encounter between Italian chef Denny Imbroisi, pizza chef Julien Serri and mixologist Matthias Giroud who creates a creative cocktail menu.
