It’s the ultimate comfort drink! With the return of cold weather, hot chocolate is there to invigorate those who are cold. But be careful, there is hot chocolate and hot chocolate… Le Marais Mood went in search of the smoothest, creamiest, chocolateiest.

The reputation is not overrated: it is on this terrace on the Place des Vosges that one of the best chocolates in the Marais and in Paris can be tasted. In the old-fashioned or Viennese way (with its homemade whipped cream served in a bowl), it is thick but not too thick, that is to say very digestible, even almost refreshing!
In this legendary house born at Trocadéro in 1927 which was established 11 years ago in le Marais, the chocolate drink is served with homemade shortbread. Prepared from 48% Ghanaian cocoa, whole milk enriched with crème fraîche and a touch of vanilla, the drink is memorable. And energetic: approximately 346 calories.
But don't worry: this generous recipe is full of antioxidants, chocolate being known to delay cellular aging and prevent fatigue and stress.
Chocolate at €9.

With its giant teddy bears hanging from its facade, the Voltigeur managed to create a little buzz. Nice surprise, the hot chocolate here holds up, which is rather rare for a Parisian café.
No need to ask for the recipe: the waiters keep its composition a secret. But you make your own mixture, with a pot of milk and a cup of hot chocolate, to pour into your cup, and that's good. €4,50.

Old and delicious: instant chocolate
Photo: Once and greedy
In this store, chocolate is everywhere: on all the shelves, and within reach. Hot chocolate ? It awaits you, already prepared, in a chocolate maker that turns before your eyes.
We serve it to you “to take away”, with a speculoos. It is eaten standing up in the shop, among “playful chocolates” in the shape of reindeer, penguin or champagne bottles. The recipe: three-quarters milk, one-third dark chocolate from Santo Domingo (with a floral and floral taste) and a little brown gianduja (mixture of cocoa and Piedmont hazelnuts). Just right sweet, velvety and perfectly balanced, in a word delicious. 3€.

May 26, 2024 is Mother's Day
On this occasion, young and old celebrate their mother with a phone call, a gift, a bouquet of flowers. Mamas are celebrated all over the world and in most countries in the month of May. It is wrongly believed that this celebration dates from the dark Pétain years when he only rehabilitated it to make it a liturgical celebration...
