At Eating
Chez Eating is one of those tiny places you can easily miss if you're not paying attention. Just a few tables, a very narrow kitchen stretching the length of the room—you'd think you'd arrived in Taipei. A small space where nothing is kitschy or superfluous.
The clientele, made up of regulars and often international, faithful to the spirit of the neighborhood, shares the space in an almost domestic intimacy. From the moment you enter, the welcome is warm and gentle, with a smile that immediately puts you at ease.

Here, the cuisine is entirely vegetarian, with several vegan options. The menu is short and well-crafted: a few starters, three permanent dishes, two dishes that change weekly, and a few desserts. A clear and confident approach, with influences from across Southeast Asia. Depending on the season, dishes like Thai red curry, Korean bibimbap, and Taiwanese daily specials appear.
The dishes are served on a wooden tray, arranged like a Japanese bento box: rice, cooked and raw vegetables, pickles, and the chosen dish. That day, a vegetable and tofu roll soup, served in a rich and flavorful broth, warmed the heart; and a tofu pastry with Taiwanese ketchup satisfied any decadent cravings. The seasonings were precise, the dishes balanced and delicious.
