Bogato Pastries – ©Anaïs Costet
If you thought that a “second confinement” would discourage the teams at the Chez Bogato pastry shop newly established in the Marais, you were wrong!
For more than 10 years, Anaïs Olmer, its founder, has developed unique pastry techniques to create the craziest cakes straight out of our imagination.
What are the instructions for use?
This is where the new pastry shop in Le Marais comes into play. Every day and by appointment, this real cake creation lab offers a whole collection of its “starred” pastries and signature recipes to take away.
In individual portions or whole, in this appetizing setting, everything is designed to allow us to create the cake of our dreams. Even the prices, which range between 4 and 84 euros on average, are attractive.
In this space dedicated to the organization of personalized gourmet parties, you just have to let yourself be guided. Based on our desires, themes, stories, date and number of guests, a consultant will offer us prototypes, templates, colors, essential recipe cards, mood boards, confetti bar and disco balls.
Once the order has been placed, the teams of pastry and lace makers create our tailor-made cake by hand, to be delivered or collected on site.
Who can participate in the creation of a Bogato?
Young and old who want to create and enjoy a unique and deliciously spectacular birthday, wedding, baby shower, festive ceremony and even corporate cake.
And since Chez Bogato there are no limits to creativity, you can also order on their e.shop what you need to design your party decoration with your own hands.
All the accessories available at the boutique-lab, party favors, balloons, Polaroids, candies and DYI creation kit are also available on their site. (Price from approximately 2,50 to 60 euros)
Once confinement is behind us, it will be high time to participate in recreational workshops.
What do we do here ?
With the pastry chefs in 1h30, children from 4 years old, parents, friends and colleagues up to 99 years old, will learn French pastry techniques and will be able to share, for around 36 euros, a moment of complicity while enjoying themselves of a “handmade cake, as good as it is beautiful”.

3 Belgian addresses in the Marais
Whether they are Walloons or Flemish, the French love the Belgians for their energy and their communicative good humor. Here are some Belgian addresses firmly established in the Marais.
These best workers in France (MOF) from the Marais
To stick only to the food sector, several prestigious “MOFs” have set their sights on the Marais and Ile Saint-Louis, environments perfectly suited to their talents.
NOW ON
THE MOOD MARSH
Divine brunch at the foot of Notre-Dame
Of course, officially, it is not the Marais. But at Son de la Terre, a barge recently moored at the Montebello quay (5th), the 4th arrondissement is in sight. Moreover, this one is incredible: on one side, it is Notre-Dame flooded with sunlight; on the other, the quays, the book sellers, the walkers, the joggers.
Saka, a cocktail bar like in Tokyo
Here is an address which gives the measure of the transformation of the Marais. And it's enough to silence the grumpy people whose mantra is: “It was better before…” No, everything was not better “before” in the Marais. Besides, there was no American bar like Saka, which cultivates a form of excellence that can only be found in Japan.
Jazz at 38Riv: The highlights of May
The only jazz club in the Marais, 38Riv is the temple of cool and swing. Rue de Rivoli, between Saint-Paul and Hôtel de Ville, its vaulted cellars are the home base of the new jazz scene. Every evening, the magic happens.
