Bermuda shorts evoke disturbing disappearances in a triangular magnetic field while Bermuda shorts are rather square shorts. One certainty: it is a question of geometry in the choreography Bermudas (The Bermudas) by Michele Di Stefano, a show with right-angled breaks, diagonal movements and its spinning tops that make circles.

Based on simple and rigorous rules, Bermudas is based on a mathematics of bodies which produce an obsessive and techno perpetual movement composed of seven dancer-performers who engage in an enigmatic exercise of euphoric poetry. In Italy, where the choreographer is from, Bermudas has already received numerous awards including best Italian production and best dance show 2019. And in view of the work of the MK company (which is celebrating its 20th anniversary) we understand why.

“The tonicity and generational diversity of the performers give breadth and freshness to these aerial gyrating movements, sometimes telescopic or telescoped,” promises Carreau du Temple, whose contemporary dance program never disappoints. “To create his choreographic ecosystem, Di Stefano draws inspiration from theories of chaos and the evolving systems of physics and meteorology, with an energetic dimension of rare intensity. »
