Comedian Didier Bénureau talks to us about the sores…

Crazy and (very) grating, Didier Bénureau's one-man show has taken up residence at the Antoine theater (10th arrondissement), after triumphing last fall at the Rond-Point.

A cohort of fans have been following this crazy guy for years and revere this “cult” artist who started at the Bouvard theater

We understand them. His sketches and songs are, in fact, hilarious, with their gallery of neurotic, awful, stupid and nasty characters.

From the collaborator who regrets the Second World War to the odious manipulative mother-in-law suffering from Alzheimer's, including the Shakespearean actor worthy of Monty Python or even Geneviève, victim of cosmetic surgery (and let's not forget the Belgian bishop transvestite!), everyone gets what they deserve.

For almost two hours, Bénoureau takes us where we least expect him, even into the world of rock, with his solid group Les Cochons dans l'espace which boosts this crazy and supercharged show.

The comedian, who dares the worst horrors, does not spare the ailments. “A subject I know well…” he said.

Antoinette Colin, a period (comma), that’s all!

Artistic director of Point-virgule for thirteen years, Antoinette Colin is an eclectic woman who tried her hand at several professions before taking charge of the famous Marais theater: odd jobs of all kinds to finance her studies, waitress...

Exceptional document: the Marais told by Jean Bouquin

Exceptional document: the Marais told by Jean Bouquin

This man is a monument. And his exceptional testimony has the value of a historical document. Because Jean Bouquin, the director of Déjazet, is an extraordinary character. Son of a washerwoman from rue du Pont-aux-Choux (3rd), he knew Jean Vilar, Jackie Kennedy, Coluche, Alain Delon and many other celebrities.

Divine brunch at the foot of Notre-Dame

Divine brunch at the foot of Notre-Dame

Of course, officially, it is not the Marais. But at Son de la Terre, a barge recently moored at the Montebello quay (5th), the 4th arrondissement is in sight. Moreover, this one is incredible: on one side, it is Notre-Dame flooded with sunlight; on the other, the quays, the book sellers, the walkers, the joggers.

Saka, a cocktail bar like in Tokyo

Saka, a cocktail bar like in Tokyo

Here is an address which gives the measure of the transformation of the Marais. And it's enough to silence the grumpy people whose mantra is: “It was better before…” No, everything was not better “before” in the Marais. Besides, there was no American bar like Saka, which cultivates a form of excellence that can only be found in Japan.

Jazz at 38Riv: The highlights of May

Jazz at 38Riv: The highlights of May

The only jazz club in the Marais, 38Riv is the temple of cool and swing. Rue de Rivoli, between Saint-Paul and Hôtel de Ville, its vaulted cellars are the home base of the new jazz scene. Every evening, the magic happens.
