In the Marais, the Essaïon theater welcomes "Victor by Hugo", musical biopic unpublished work dedicated to the life of the great Victor Hugo.
This play, which skillfully blends theatre and music, invites the audience to rediscover the author of Les Misérables through his own texts, reworked by Chani Sabaty and brought to life in a contemporary production by Chani Sabaty, Marilyne Fontaine and Simon Primard.

The strength of "Victor by Hugo" lies in the subtle use of the author's words, set to music to emphasize the modernity and universality of his work. Actor-musicians Thomas Fitterer, Patrick Palmero, and Chani Sabaty alternately embody Hugo, his friends, and his adversaries, creating a lively and nuanced fresco.

In the intimate setting of the Essaïon Theatre, located in the heart of the Marais, in one of the medieval cellars of the former Hôtel de l'Aigle d'Or, behind the Théâtre de la Gare and the Centre de danse du Marais, this creation is worth the detour.
