At 39 rue des Gravilliers, Apoticari brings to Paris a story that begins in Le Puy-en-Velay. A village that is part of an ancient tradition of herbalism: for centuries, the plants of Auvergne were harvested and used for their medicinal properties.
Indeed, on the roads to Santiago de Compostela, apothecaries and herbalists from Velay treated passing pilgrims thanks to their knowledge of plants and natural remedies.
Founded by Elsa Snakers and Claire Chicha, the botanical skincare brand draws on the tradition of apothecary and the rich plant life of the Auvergne region. Verbena, nettle, chamomile, sage, cornflower, calendula: local plants are at the heart of short formulas, developed in small batches and transformed into hydrosols, macerates, infusions or plant oils.
Here, there's no race for the star ingredient. Apoticari champions cosmetics inspired by traditional herbalism, where each plant has a specific function and the focus is more on rebalancing and strengthening the skin than transforming it. The amber bottles, plant-based materials, and deliberately understated apothecary aesthetic extend this philosophy to the product itself.
This very pretty address in the Haut-Marais goes further than a cosmetics shop: it now brings together botanical treatments, hydrosols, gemmotherapy, signature drinks, infusions and edible plant creations: muffins, cookies in this first Apoticari Tea Room which appeals to all the senses.
